A lady's hand daintily presents a silver pearl in this enchanting Marslieu brooch. Exquisitely sculpted in sterling silver, the delicate hand wears red enamel nail lacquer and a rhinestone-studded cuff. The faux pearl glows like a winter moon. This brooch is marked "Marslieu Sterling Pat.Pend." at its back. Circa 1940.

Marslieu was one of several Imperial Pearl Company trademarks. Marslieu was active from 1928 to 1948, producing figural jewelry in sterling silver, gold-plating, and luminous faux pearls.
