An interesting necklace of sterling silver set with opal and accented with 18k gold from the artist Shawn Bluejacket. It is graphic and bold, with a distinct 1990s look. The pendant has three points of articulation: a long oval Peruvian opal is bezel set horizontally at the top, gold wire and beadwork embellish the center, and a small oval opal dangles vertically at the base. The pendant doubles as a brooch and has a clever removable bale that attaches to a rollover pin. This dramatic piece is suspended from a sterling curb chain. The back is signed "Bluejacket." Circa 1990.

Shawn Bluejacket is of Loyal Shawnee heritage. She was raised in New Zealand, attended university in California, and furthered her studies in Santa Fe. Bluejacket designs unique and highly creative pieces.
